This Privacy Policy explains how JD Tech Sage ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the SafeCircle user application (com.jdtechsage.safecircle) or the SafeCircle admin application (com.jdtechsage.safecircleadmin) (together, the "App"). By using SafeCircle, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

SafeCircle collects only what is needed to operate a verified, location-aware safety reporting platform:

• Account information — name, and email address or phone number, used for authentication via Firebase Authentication.
• Location details — the country, state, district and city you select for your profile. SafeCircle does not use GPS or precise map coordinates.
• Report information — category, description, incident date, location, optional details about a reported person, and any evidence images you choose to upload.
• Reporter verification details — name, contact number and email provided at the time of submitting a report, used solely to prevent misuse and allow admin verification.
• Comments and activity — comments you post, reports you save, and reports you share.
• Usage analytics — aggregate counts such as report views, saves and shares, used to help administrators understand activity on the platform.

2. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

• Create and secure your account and verify your identity as a reporter.
• Route submitted reports to administrators for review, approval or rejection.
• Filter and personalize the reports and safety notifications shown to you based on your selected location.
• Operate features you choose to use, such as saving, sharing and commenting on reports.
• Maintain platform integrity, including preventing spam, abuse and duplicate or fraudulent reports.

3. What becomes public

When an administrator approves a report, only the report content — category, location, date and description — is published for other users to see. Your name, phone number, email and any other private details are never included in a published report. If a report is rejected, it is never made public.

4. Sharing & third-party services

We do not sell your personal information. SafeCircle is built on Google Firebase, and the following Firebase services process data on our behalf under Google's own data protection terms:

• Firebase Authentication — manages sign-in and identity.
• Cloud Firestore — stores users, reports, comments, notifications and analytics data.
• Firebase Storage — stores report images and evidence uploads.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers safety alerts and admin notifications.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect the rights and safety of users, or to investigate suspected misuse of the platform.

5. Data retention

We retain account and report data for as long as your account is active or as needed to operate SafeCircle. Reporter verification details attached to a report are retained separately from the published, anonymized report content, and are used only for administrative review and accountability purposes.

6. Security

SafeCircle relies on Firebase Authentication for secure sign-in, database rules that restrict access based on user role, and admin-only access controls for report review and moderation. Evidence images are stored in private, access-controlled storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.

7. App permissions

SafeCircle requests only the permissions it needs:

• Internet — required for the app to connect to Firebase and function.
• Notifications — used to deliver safety alerts and admin announcements.
• Image access — requested only when you choose to upload a report image.

SafeCircle does not request precise device location, always-on camera access, or access to your contacts.

8. Your rights & choices

You can review and update your profile information inside the app at any time. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time — see our account & data deletion page for instructions.

9. Children's privacy

SafeCircle is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18, given the nature of safety-related reporting. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
